The affluent western communities stretching from the enclaves of West Lake Hills and Rollingwood along the Colorado River west to the shores of Lake Travis. Lakeway, Bee Cave, and the Steiner Ranch CDP anchor the lake-area population, while West Lake Hills and Rollingwood sit closer to downtown. The Hill Country Galleria in Bee Cave serves as the area's commercial center. Dripping Springs, further west along US-290, markets itself as the 'Gateway to the Hill Country' with a distillery and winery corridor. Lago Vista and Jonestown occupy the north shore of Lake Travis. Eanes ISD, one of the top-rated districts in Texas, draws residents to the eastern portion of the region.
