The northern reaches of East Baton Rouge Parish, anchored by the incorporated cities of Zachary (pop. 19,300) and Central (pop. 26,900) -- both of which have their own municipal governments and school districts. Baker sits between downtown and Zachary along the Plank Road corridor. The Scotlandville area is home to Southern University and A&M College. Pride is a rural community in the northeast corner of the parish.
