City of Bismarck
The city of Bismarck itself, the state capital and the second-largest city in North Dakota. This region contains downtown Bismarck (the historic Kirkwood Mall, the downtown arts district), the North Dakota State Capitol complex (the 19-story 'Skyscraper of the Prairie' completed in 1934, the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum, and the Veterans Cemetery), the University of Mary campus on the south side, Bismarck State College, and the expanding north and northwest residential areas.
