The Southwest Cook County suburbs along I-55 (Stevenson Expressway), I-294, and the Metra SouthWest Service and Heritage Corridor lines. Orland Park and Tinley Park are the region's commercial and residential anchors, with the Rock Island District serving Tinley Park and Orland Park/143rd Street. The Palos communities (Palos Heights, Palos Hills, Palos Park) back up to the Palos Forest Preserve, the largest Cook County forest preserve district. Lemont sits in the Des Plaines River valley at the edge of Cook/DuPage/Will. Oak Lawn, Evergreen Park, and Burbank form the inner-ring southwest corridor with Advocate Christ Medical Center as a major employer.
