I-26 / I-77

The communities west and south of the Congaree River, connected to downtown Columbia by multiple bridges. West Columbia and Cayce are the two principal cities, offering affordable housing and quick access to downtown across the river. The area is experiencing a revival, with the Riverwalk along the Congaree and new mixed-use development. Springdale and South Congaree sit farther south along I-26. The I-26/I-77 interchange at Cayce is a major transportation node, and the Columbia Metropolitan Airport is located just southwest of the area. The Three Rivers Greenway provides miles of trails along the Saluda, Broad, and Congaree rivers.
