East Dallas & Lakeside

The communities east of Dallas County centered on Lake Ray Hubbard — the Metroplex's largest urban reservoir at 22,745 acres. Garland and Mesquite are established inner-ring suburbs with DART rail access, while Rockwall, Rowlett, and Heath offer waterfront living on the lake's eastern shore. Farther east, Forney, Fate, and Royse City are among DFW's fastest-growing exurbs, attracting buyers with new-construction homes and larger lots along the I-30 corridor. DART's Blue Line reaches Downtown Rowlett, and the Silver Line now connects to Plano.
