The southern Polk County suburbs and Warren County, anchored by Norwalk (Warren County's largest city, directly south of West Des Moines), Indianola (the Warren County seat and home of Simpson College and the National Balloon Classic), and Carlisle. The region includes the Des Moines Water Works Park and the Raccoon River Valley. Warren County has experienced significant residential growth over the past decade, driven by commuter traffic to Des Moines employment centers.
