This region contains downtown Dover with Legislative Hall and The Green historic district, the Delaware State University campus, Dover Motor Speedway, Dover Air Force Base (home of the 436th Airlift Wing and the Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations), and the immediate ring of residential CDPs including Rodney Village, Highland Acres, Kent Acres, and Rising Sun-Lebanon. Bayshore villages of Little Creek and Leipsic anchor the eastern edge along the Delaware Bay.
