City of Duluth

The 87-square-mile city of Duluth, stretching 26 miles along the western shore of Lake Superior. The city's dramatic topography rises from the lakefront at ~600 feet elevation to hillside neighborhoods at ~1,400 feet. Downtown (Lake Superior Place, the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center, the Fitger's historic brewery/hotel), Canal Park (the Aerial Lift Bridge, the Lakewalk trail, Bayfront Festival Park), the East End/Congdon Park (home to Glensheen Mansion), Lakeside/Lester Park, Lincoln Park, Spirit Valley/West Duluth, and the historic Denfeld and Morgan Park districts are the primary neighborhoods. The University of Minnesota Duluth and the College of St. Scholastica anchor higher education.
