Communities along the Richardson Highway southeast of Fairbanks, anchored by the City of North Pole -- the only other incorporated city in the borough. This corridor includes the large Badger CDP (pop. ~19,000), the Moose Creek area near Eielson Air Force Base, and the base itself. The region has a strong military presence, with Eielson AFB hosting approximately 5,400 personnel. North Pole embraces a year-round Christmas theme, while Badger offers more affordable housing and suburban-style living.
