Anderson, Pickens & Clemson

The western arm of the Upstate, spanning Anderson and Pickens counties from the I-85 corridor west to Lake Hartwell and the Blue Ridge foothills. Anderson (pop. 25,514) is the commercial center, while Clemson (pop. 13,905) is defined by Clemson University and its game-day culture around Death Valley. Easley (pop. 28,984) is Pickens County's largest city and a growing residential choice. Powdersville (pop. 10,025), a CDP between Greenville and Anderson along US-29, has seen rapid suburban growth. Pendleton, one of the nation's oldest planned communities, offers small-town historic character.
