The West Shore is the Cumberland County suburban area directly across the Susquehanna from Harrisburg, connected by the Market Street Bridge, Walnut Street Bridge, Harvey Taylor Bridge, and the I-83 South Bridge. Anchored by Camp Hill (a small borough known for the Camp Hill shopping district and strong school district), Mechanicsburg (the largest West Shore borough, home to Messiah University just to the south), New Cumberland, Lemoyne, Wormleysburg, Shiremanstown, Hampden Township (including Enola), East Pennsboro Township, Upper Allen Township, Lower Allen Township, and Silver Spring Township. The West Shore is connected to central Harrisburg via the PA-581 Capital Beltway.
