Snake River fishing town in the potato country
Firth is a very small incorporated city on the west bank of the Snake River in northern Bingham County, about 25 minutes south of Idaho Falls via US-91. The town sits in deep potato country and anchors the Firth-to-Rose seven-mile drift reach, one of the more productive brown trout sections of the Snake River. Firth City Park is an official Idaho Fish and Game fishing and boating access site, and the community serves as a quiet base for anglers and agricultural workers seeking Snake River proximity at a lower cost than Idaho Falls proper.
Located in Bingham County, outside the official Idaho Falls MSA, but commonly considered part of the Idaho Falls commuter area (~23 min to downtown Idaho Falls via US-91). Very small population (~517 per 2020 Census) means many community metrics are not published at the city level.
