East Maui
The remote, lush eastern end of the island, reached by the winding Hana Highway (one of Hawaii's most famous drives). The tiny community of Hana is the only significant settlement, maintaining a deeply Hawaiian character with taro farming, a small harbor, and minimal commercial development. East Maui is the wettest part of the island, with dense tropical rainforest, waterfalls, and the Kipahulu section of Haleakala National Park. This region is not for those who need daily conveniences, but offers unmatched natural beauty and cultural authenticity.
