Upcountry Maui

The cool, green slopes of Haleakala from about 1,500 to 4,500 feet elevation, encompassing the ranch town of Makawao, the residential community of Pukalani, and the farming districts of Kula and Keokea. Upcountry is Maui's agricultural heartland — protea farms, lavender fields, and cattle ranches define the landscape. The climate is distinctly cooler than the coast, with lush pastures and sweeping ocean views. Haliimaile and Olinda add small-community character.
