Northland (Clay & Platte Counties)

The 'Northland' — Kansas City's northern portion across the Missouri River in Clay and Platte counties. This region contains the portion of Kansas City, MO north of the river (including Northland neighborhoods), plus the cities of North Kansas City, Gladstone, Liberty (Clay County seat), Kearney, Smithville, Excelsior Springs, Parkville, Platte City (Platte County seat), Riverside, and Weston (a historic Missouri River town). Kansas City International Airport (MCI) is in Platte County. The Ford Claycomo Assembly Plant (producing the F-150 pickup) is in the Northland.
