The northern reaches of Shelby County stretching from the Memphis neighborhoods of Frayser and Raleigh up through Millington, Arlington, and Lakeland. Millington (pop. 10,582) is home to Naval Support Activity Mid-South, the region's major military installation. Arlington (pop. 14,549) and Lakeland (pop. 13,904) are fast-growing suburbs along I-40 and the I-269 corridor with new subdivisions and their own school districts. Frayser and Raleigh are historic Memphis neighborhoods undergoing revitalization closer to the city core.
