The Arkansas side of the Memphis metro, connected by the I-40 Hernando de Soto Bridge and the I-55 Memphis-Arkansas Bridge across the Mississippi River. West Memphis (pop. 24,520) is the commercial center of Crittenden County (pop. 48,163) and the largest city in the Arkansas portion of the metro. Marion (pop. 13,752), the county seat, is a growing bedroom community north of West Memphis along I-55. The area offers the lowest housing costs in the metro with direct interstate access to downtown Memphis in under 15 minutes.
