The inner western Milwaukee County suburbs immediately west of the city, anchored by Wauwatosa (Tosa), West Allis, Brown Deer, and West Milwaukee. Wauwatosa is home to the Medical College of Wisconsin, Froedtert Hospital, the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center, and Mayfair Mall. West Allis is the historic Milwaukee County State Fair site and home to the Milwaukee Mile racetrack. Brown Deer is a small northern suburb with its own school district and commercial corridor.
