Anchored by Woodbury (one of Minnesota's fastest-growing cities and among the highest-rated Twin Cities suburbs), Stillwater (the historic county seat and the 'Birthplace of Minnesota,' with a picturesque downtown along the St. Croix River lift bridge), Cottage Grove, Oakdale, Lake Elmo, Mahtomedi, Newport, and Forest Lake. The St. Croix River Scenic Riverway forms the eastern boundary.
