The heart of Music City, encompassing downtown Nashville and the surrounding in-town neighborhoods within the consolidated Nashville-Davidson County government. Downtown anchors the metro with the honky-tonks of Lower Broadway, the Ryman Auditorium, Bridgestone Arena, and Nissan Stadium. The Gulch is a LEED-certified mixed-use district with luxury condos and upscale dining. Germantown, Nashville's first suburb, has been revitalized with acclaimed restaurants and new residential construction. East Nashville, across the Cumberland River, is the city's arts-and-music epicenter with eclectic shops and bungalow-lined streets. Midtown and Music Row form the epicenter of the music industry. 12South, Sylvan Park, and the Nations represent walkable neighborhoods with independent retail.
