Uptown & Garden District

The historic residential heart of New Orleans, stretching along the Mississippi River from the Garden District through Audubon Park to Carrollton. The St. Charles Avenue streetcar line runs the length of this region, passing antebellum mansions, Tulane and Loyola universities, and the shops and restaurants of Magazine Street. Neighborhoods include the Garden District, Uptown proper, Audubon, Riverbend, and Carrollton. This is one of the most walkable and architecturally significant areas of the city.
