Anchored by Deptford Township (the Deptford Mall and Deptford Center retail corridor along I-295 and NJ-42), Washington Township (large suburban municipality), Glassboro (home to Rowan University, one of the fastest-growing public universities in NJ), Woodbury (the county seat), West Deptford, Pitman, Mantua, Mullica Hill (Harrison Township), Williamstown (in Monroe Township), Sicklerville (in Winslow Township — though Winslow is Camden Co.), Sewell (in Washington Township), Wenonah, Paulsboro, National Park, and Franklin Township. The county is characterized by a mix of suburban growth (near Deptford and Washington Twp) and Pinelands agricultural land (south and east).
