Westmoreland County sits east of Allegheny County and stretches toward the Laurel Highlands and the Allegheny Mountains. Anchored by Greensburg (the county seat, home to Seton Hill University and the Westmoreland Museum of American Art), Murrysville (the largest municipality by population, immediately east of Monroeville), Latrobe (birthplace of Arnold Palmer, site of the Pittsburgh Steelers' summer training camp at Saint Vincent College, and home of Rolling Rock beer), Jeannette, Irwin, North Huntingdon, Hempfield Township, Penn Township, Norwin, and New Kensington. The region is characterized by rolling farmland, historic small towns, and the Ligonier/Laurel Highlands resort area in eastern Westmoreland.
