The southern band of Dutchess County along the Hudson River and the Metro-North Hudson Line toward New York City. Anchored by Beacon (a Hudson River city revitalized around Dia:Beacon contemporary art museum, a 90-minute train ride from Grand Central), Fishkill (town and village), East Fishkill (including the Hopewell Junction hamlet and IBM's East Fishkill plant, formerly home to the world's first 300mm semiconductor fab), Wappingers Falls, and the Town of Wappinger. This is the primary NYC commuter belt within Dutchess County.
