The eastern side of Chesterfield County along the I-95 corridor south of Richmond, including the Chester CDP (pop. 23,414), Ettrick (pop. 7,241, home to Virginia State University), and the Route 10/Route 1 corridor. Chester is a major residential and commercial hub straddling the I-95/Route 10 interchange. This zone transitions from suburban Chester southward toward the Tri-Cities area (Petersburg, Hopewell, Colonial Heights). Fort Gregg-Adams (formerly Fort Lee) in Prince George County is a major military installation and employer for this corridor.
