The eastern band of Monroe County, considered among the strongest suburban school districts in Western New York. Anchored by Pittsford (the historic canal village and upscale suburb along the Erie Canal Heritage Trail), Penfield, Webster (on Lake Ontario, home of the Xerox headquarters campus), Perinton (containing the Village of Fairport, another Erie Canal town), and East Rochester. The region follows the canal corridor east from the city and is served by I-490 and I-590.
