I-90 East

Boone County and its seat, Belvidere, 15 miles east of Rockford along I-90. Belvidere is home to the (currently idled) Stellantis Belvidere Assembly Plant, which historically built Jeep Cherokee and Dodge Dart vehicles. The county's other notable communities include Poplar Grove, Caledonia, and Capron — small villages offering a rural-residential alternative with direct I-90 access to both Rockford and Chicagoland.
