The commercial hub of the entire Delmarva Peninsula. Anchored by Salisbury (the largest city on the Eastern Shore with ~33,000 residents, home to Salisbury University and the TidalHealth Peninsula Regional Medical Center) and its immediate suburb Fruitland. Also includes the twin towns of Delmar (straddling the MD/DE state line), Hebron, Mardela Springs, Pittsville, Willards, and Sharptown. The region sits at the junction of US-50 (east-west to Ocean City) and US-13 (north-south along the peninsula spine) and serves as the regional employment, healthcare, retail, and education center.
