The urban heart of the Wasatch Front, centered on Salt Lake City proper and its immediate neighbors. Salt Lake City is Utah's capital and largest city, home to Temple Square, the University of Utah, and a revitalized downtown with a growing tech and cultural scene. South Salt Lake, Millcreek, and Murray form the inner suburban ring along the I-15 corridor. UTA TRAX light rail provides extensive coverage through this zone, with the Blue, Red, and Green lines converging downtown and FrontRunner commuter rail connecting north to Ogden and south to Provo. The neighborhoods range from historic tree-lined streets near the Avenues and Sugar House to the diverse, working-class communities of the west side.
