North City & I-15 Corridor

The planned communities and suburban neighborhoods straddling the I-15 freeway between central San Diego and North County Inland, all within San Diego city limits. Rancho Bernardo, Rancho Penasquitos, Scripps Ranch, Sabre Springs, Mira Mesa, and Carmel Mountain Ranch were largely developed from the 1970s through the 1990s and offer family-oriented suburban living with good schools, community parks, and major tech and biotech employers nearby (Qualcomm, General Atomics). SR-56 connects I-15 to I-5 and the coast, and the I-15 managed express lanes ease commuting to downtown San Diego.
