Inner East Bay

The urban core of the East Bay stretching along the I-80 and I-880 corridors from Richmond and El Cerrito south through Berkeley, Oakland, and Alameda to San Leandro. Oakland is the region's largest city and a major port, cultural hub, and increasingly prominent tech center. Berkeley is home to the University of California and a world-renowned intellectual community. Richmond anchors the north with industrial heritage and waterfront revitalization. BART provides extensive rail service with stations throughout this corridor. Housing ranges from affordable to premium, with Oakland and Berkeley among the Bay Area's most culturally diverse and dynamic cities.
