North Bay & Wine Country

The Sonoma and Napa county communities north of Marin, anchored by Santa Rosa (Sonoma County's largest city) and the world-famous Napa Valley wine region. Santa Rosa is a regional hub with healthcare, education (Sonoma State University in nearby Rohnert Park), and retail. Petaluma offers historic small-town charm with a growing craft food and beverage scene. Napa and its surrounding valley towns are synonymous with premium wine. Vallejo, at the southern tip of the North Bay, provides the most affordable housing in this region and ferry service to San Francisco. The SMART commuter rail connects Larkspur (Marin County) to Santa Rosa and the Sonoma County Airport, with a planned extension to Healdsburg.
