The southern rural and small-town ring of Onondaga County, in the rolling hills south of the city toward the Finger Lakes and the Southern Tier. Anchored by the Town of Onondaga (south of the Onondaga Nation territory, which is within the town's boundaries), LaFayette (famous for its apple orchards and the annual LaFayette Apple Festival), Pompey, Tully, Fabius, and Otisco (on Otisco Lake, the easternmost Finger Lake). The region is more rural than the northern, eastern, and western suburban rings, with scattered hamlets and horse country.
