The southern Lucas County and northern Wood County suburbs along the Maumee River, anchored by Perrysburg (the region's highest-rated school district), Maumee (Wood/Lucas border), Rossford, Waterville, and Whitehouse. Perrysburg contains the Fallen Timbers Battlefield and Memorial and is home to First Solar's manufacturing complex. Maumee is the historic former seat of Lucas County and contains the Maumee Bay State Park and the Side Cut Metropark. The Maumee River and the Anthony Wayne Trail (US-24) form the defining corridors.
