City of Trenton
NJ-29 / US-1 / NJ Transit NEC
New Jersey's state capital and the anchor city of the metro. Trenton contains the New Jersey State House (the 2nd-oldest state capitol still in continuous legislative use), the Trenton Transit Center (NJ Transit Northeast Corridor, SEPTA Trenton Line, River Line light rail terminus), the historic Mill Hill and Old Mill Hill districts, the Trenton Battle Monument commemorating Washington's December 1776 crossing of the Delaware, Cadwalader Park, the New Jersey State Museum, and the Trenton Thunder minor league baseball stadium. Though its population has declined from its industrial peak, Trenton remains the government and transit hub of the metro.
