The rolling hill country northwest of Wilmington along the US-202 and DE-52 (Kennett Pike) corridors into Pennsylvania, known as 'Chateau Country' for the historic du Pont family estates — Winterthur, Hagley, Nemours, Longwood Gardens (just over the PA line), and Mount Cuba. Anchored by the unincorporated communities of Greenville, Centreville, Hockessin, Montchanin, and Yorklyn. The region is served by the Red Clay Consolidated School District and is home to many of Delaware's most elite private schools including Tower Hill, Wilmington Friends, and Tatnall.
