The Maryland portion of the Wilmington Metro Division, comprising Cecil County at the northeastern corner of the Chesapeake Bay and the head of the bay. Anchored by Elkton (the county seat, near the DE border along I-95) and North East (at the head of the Chesapeake). The region also includes Rising Sun, Chesapeake City, Perryville, Port Deposit, Cecilton, and Charlestown. Major employers include the former Aberdeen Proving Ground overflow, Fair Hill Natural Resources Area, and the W.L. Gore & Associates headquarters in Elkton. Residents commute primarily along I-95 into Wilmington and Newark.
